What tasks cost on Bounty.

It's free to post. You set the reward, and that's the total you pay: no subscription, no lead fees, no hourly meter. The hunter pays a 5% finder's fee out of the reward when the task is completed. $5 is the only floor.

Typical local ranges

The main reason people stall is not knowing what's fair. These are the going local rates for the tasks people post most. Pick a number in the range, then post it.

  • Lawn mowing$35–60
  • Furniture assembly$40–75
  • Dog walking$15–25
  • Grocery run$20–35
  • TV mounting$50–90
  • Moving help$60–120
  • House cleaning$60–120
  • Tutoring$25–50 per hour

Estimates only. You set the final reward, anywhere from $5 to $10,000.

The fee

One number, and that's what you pay.

You pay exactly the reward you set. The hunter pays a 5% finder's fee out of it when the task is done: post a $60 bounty and you pay $60, and the hunter takes home $57. On a $120 moving job, you pay $120 and the hunter takes home $114.

Free to post

Nothing added to the reward you set, with no subscription and no lead fees.

No clock running

Hourly apps get paid more the longer it takes. You set one number and that's it.

$10 off your first

Referred by a friend? Your first bounty gets $10 off, and they get $10 when it's done.

What the other apps add on top

  • TaskRabbit adds ~15% plus a $9.95 booking fee, on an hourly meter.
  • Thumbtack sells your lead to 4–8 pros for $10–$200 each.
  • Bounty adds nothing. You pay the reward you set.

When money moves

You pay up front. It's held, not taken.

Stripe takes the payment the moment you post and holds it there while the work happens. The hunter is paid after you confirm the job is complete. Not before.

If the bounty goes unclaimed or a dispute is decided your way, you get a full refund.

Bounty is for one-off tasks on your terms, not ongoing arrangements with one provider. If you need a standing weekly appointment, a traditional service probably fits better.
